Alright so, moving on, you have digitally printed tussar silk. Good news is, there are no special care instructions for digitally printed fabrics. Their colors are permanent, especially when you get them printed from a good company.
I’ll take a moment here for boasting – please bear with me. At Desi Roots, our fabrics are high quality and their prints don’t wear off. They are the best you can find in the market. In fact, a lot of digitally printed fabrics you see in the market are printed by us.
Now moving on, while there are no special instructions for digitally printed fabrics, there are some special instructions for tussar silk, and for that matter, any silk.
As you might already know, silk is a very delicate fabric. Tussar by its nature has a natural shine and a unique texture. It needs proper care so it can retain its original looks for long.
Handwashing the fabric
If you got the tussar silk printed from us, you know it’s durable and you can toss it into the washing machine and let it do the rest. However, if you want to increase the longevity of the textile, we recommend washing it with hand.
With a gentle handwash, your clothes will last longer. A cold water wash with gentle hands can add at least 3-5 years to the lifetime of most of your clothes.
Drycleaning the fabric
I need to mention here that you don’t NEED to dryclean your digitally printed tussar silks. However, if you got a coat or a jacket made of it, it’s best to get it dry cleaned.
Why? Because jackets and coats often have a layer of lining cloth and that lining cloth can shrink upon wash.
So if you’ve used our tussar silk with another fabric, it’s best to give it for dry cleaning.
How to Iron Digitally Printed Tussar Silk
Before you iron your fabric, turn the textile inside out. This way, the fabric will not lose its natural shine and prints. To be fair, even a rock will break if you put it under heat and cold cycles. Just turning the clothing inside out will solve many things.
